Not a huge amount is known about this large abandoned monastery in the mountains of northern Italy - but, unlike many abandoned European sites - these beautiful buildings have been well preserved, with very little of the graffiti and vandalism often present in these historic structures - presumably due to its relatively remote, concealed location.
Other than a thick layer of dust, this beautiful chapel is almost entirely intact, with all its original stained glass windows, pews, statues and confessional boxes.
With the assistance of a local photographer, a Kiwi friend and I visited this, and a number of other stunning locations in the area, in 2017.
